Grandmother Flordemayo

Client: The Path

Grandmother Flordemayo, a Curandera Espirita of Mayan heritage, is a healer of the divine spirit. She travels around the world sharing her healings, prayers, and desire to foster a spiritual understanding among humanity. Based in Estancia, NM, the 40 Acres where Flordemayo’s nonprofit The Path is located, provides a desert backdrop for this spotlight on her legacy work around heirloom seed preservation.

The Three Sisters, (corn, beans, and squash) have centuries-old tradition of companion planting in indigenous culture. Part of Flordemayo’s work at The Path stems from the advocacy around the importance of protecting seed varieties for future generations, in which she eloquently interweaves spiritual teachings about the seeds we all hold within us as well.
